Gold Coast Health Plan's (GCHP) Government Affairs Department serves as a liaison between the Plan, legislators and local elected officials and interfaces with a variety of state and local agencies. Coupled with its primary role of analyzing state and federal issues related to healthcare and Medicaid / Medi-Cal policies, the department also provides information on the Affordable Care Act and healthcare reform.
Opioid Policy Summit
Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP), in collaboration with the Ventura County Behavioral Health (VCBH), will be holding an Opioid Policy Summit on May 5.
The abuse of prescription opioid medications has been of serious concern at the national, state, and local levels. Policymakers are attempting to combat the opioid epidemic in their communities by proposing and passing legislation to address the issue.
With the Opioid Policy Summit, the goal of the Plan and VCBH is to engage community stakeholders in a discussion about strategies that can be used to address the opioid epidemic in Ventura County.
